Ambien
Ambien is the branded name of the drug zolpidem. Ambien is used for treating sleep disorders like insomnia. This drug is categorized as a sedative or hypnotic medication. It works by affecting certain substances in the brain that regulate sleep and cause insomnia when unbalanced. Ambien helps relax your mind and body in order to easily fall asleep and avoid having problems during the sleep. There are other uses for Ambien, but only a qualified specialist can determine and prescribe it. In most cases Ambien is used to treat insomnia.
Step1
Ambien is available in three different dosages, so you have to consult with your doctor what dosage of Ambien should be used in your situation: a 5-mg pink capsule, a 10-mg white capsule or a 6.25-mg round, pink time-release tablet.
Step2
Follow your doctor's prescription exactly regarding the dosage. Read the instructions on the label of the bottle. Don't take amounts of Ambien larger than prescribed by your doctor, or take it for a longer period of time.

It is very important that you read the instruction that that comes with the prescription prior to starting the course. If you have any concerns or something is unclear to you, please contact your doctor or a pharmacist before you start taking Ambien.
Step4
Ambien pill should be taken with a full glass of water. In case you have a sensitive stomach you may take Ambien while taking a meal to reduce the irritability.

If taking Ambien in the form of time-release capsules don't chew or break it, take it as a whole. When you break the capsule you risk having an overdose because you'll consume too much of the medication at once.
Some advice when taking Ambien
- Before you know how Ambien affects your body and awareness avoid driving, operating any machinery or performing tasks where alertness is required.
- Ambien can from an addiction so it should never be used by a person other than who was prescribed to or for longer periods of time than indicated in the prescription.
- In case you have kidney or liver disease, asthma, emphysema, bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, mental illness, depression or drug addiction experience tell your doctor about it before taking Ambien.
- If you are pregnant, expect to become pregnant or breastfeeding tell your doctor before taking Ambien.
- When taking Ambien you may experience certain side-effects that don't require you to cease the treatment: drowsiness, weakness, dizziness, headache, amnesia, abnormal dreams, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, muscle pain or blurred vision. In case the symptoms don't wear off and start to worsen contact your doctor immediately.
- In case you have recently taken itraconazole, rifampin, imipramine, fluoxetine, sertraline, narcotics, muscle relaxants, seizure or anti-anxiety drugs inform your doctor about it. It is possible that you cannot take Ambien or your dosage should be adjusted.
- You can experience withdrawal symptoms of you stop taking Ambien suddenly. In case you need to stop the treatment decrease the dosage gradually.
- In case you experience symptoms such as worsened sleep problems, depression, suicidal thoughts, decreased inhibitions, lack of fear, agitation, aggression, confusion, hallucinations or impersonality contact your doctor immediately.
